Today was the Art and Science Day Career Fair. Hosted at McCluer South-Berkeley High School, students from from all over the Ferguson-Florissant School District were in attendance. After an introduction to CCDI, the students were divided into two groups, switching between the Career Fair in the gymnasium and a Guest Speaker Panel in the auditorium. The Art and Science Career Fair had over twenty local business, education and union representatives participating and building awareness of their trade and the career opportunities they have to offer. The Guest Speaker Panel was composed of four local minority business owners. Nicole Adewale, principal and founder of ABNA Engineering Inc., Michael Kennedy, CEO at KAI Design and Build Enterprises, Elmer Rhodes, President at Cross Rhodes Print and Technologies, and Tommy Davis II, president and founder of TD4 Electrical, LLC. Each panelist discussed what led them to the construction industry and what obstacles they faced as a minority business owner. Each stressed the importance of community and how the construction industry allowed them to build their own business and offer opportunities to others. The students were engaged and they all left with a lot of information about the trades.

CCDI would like to thank everyone who participated in the event!
