Saturday Academy – November 2023
A big thank you to Dan Wies for hosting our students for a CCDI Saturday Academy session today at Wies Offsite. The students had the opportunity to learn about steel studs, prefabrication, BIM modeling, blueprint reading and other technology used in construction. Then they headed into the shop and rolled up their sleeves to create their own mini wall by reading a blueprint plan, constructing a steel frame and hanging a small sheet of drywall. Thank you, Dan, for providing all the materials. Special thanks to Jesse Sanders and Patrick Hanneken for guest speaking on soft and hard skills.
Alumni Trades Day
CCDI hosted our annual “Alumni Trades Day” Saturday Academy session at North Technical and it was our biggest turnout to date. We had 40 high school students participate in trades related demo stations ran by 22 of our program graduates, many of them who are now journeymen or women at their craft. Big thank you to Patrick Hanneken who helped to design each station and get the room ready for our event. It truly was an awesome site to see how engaged the students were in this weekends session. Saturday Academy – October 2023
What an awesome turnout for our first Saturday Academy session! How awesome is it to see 25 high school students get up early on a Saturday to work on personal and professional development. Big props to Dan Lester Sr., MCA for bringing the energy and teaching the students, not only about the Clayco Enterprise, but about the importance of building their brand. CCDI 8th Annual Golf Tournament
CCDI hosted our 8th Annual Golf Tournament and dinner reception at Glen Echo Country Club. Thank you to the 120 golfers that made it out to play and to the 37 companies who sponsored our program this year! AGC of Missouri’s Build My Future Career Day
CCDI teamed up with North Technical High School today at AGC of Missouri’s Build My Future Gateway Region Construction Career Day at St. Louis Community College- Flo Valley. Forty-one seniors who are all part of the construction pathway programs at Tech, helped to run hands-on demo stations for over 1,300 high school students in attendance at the event. It was great to see students from North County teaching other students from neighboring schools and talking to them about the benefits of enrolling in a CTE program at North Tech! Ferguson-Florissant School District College & Career Fair
Thank you Ferguson-Florissant School District for inviting CCDI to participate in the district-wide College & Career Fair. What a great turnout! Special thanks to Principal Isaiah Melendez of Mccluer High School and Principal Frank Williams of McCluer North High School for advocating for skilled trade pathway opportunities for your students. Construction industry partners— Please consider reaching out if your companies are interested in engaging with these high schools. They are looking to grow their CTE programming.
