CCDI is excited to announce the recipients of our 2020 Build Our Future Scholarship. This annual scholarship is awarded only to top-qualifying high school seniors who exhibit a desire to pursue employment in the construction industry through the fields of engineering, architecture or construction/project management. CCDI will offer guidance and mentorship throughout their collegiate journey to career placement. CCDI teamed up with the construction program to host the 1st Annual Senior Build-Off Competition. The seniors were placed in teams of 3-4 and assigned a station. Each team was given build plans, materials and two class periods to work together to complete the project. The teams were judged by L. Keeley’s, Vice President, April Lopinot and other guests from CCDI partner companies. The winning team was awarded gift cards and tools from Home Depot donated by CCDI. CCDI would like to send a big Thank you to Flooring Systems Inc. for making a visit to Mr. Moore’s construction class at Jennings Senior High to lead an interactive flooring workshop with his students this past Friday! Flooring Systems Journeyman Floorlayer, Mr. Robert Sims, lead the day’s activities which consisted of preparing and laying carpet squares and vinyl tile, as well as providing the students with tips on how to be successful in the trades.
