CCDI team surprised Darius, Build Our Future scholarship recipient ‘17, with a 21st birthday lunch this afternoon! Darius is an incoming senior at Missouri Western where he is studying Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Construction. Darius is mentored by Rick Moeckel, Executive Vice President of Clayco’s Institutional Business Unit and also an alumni of Missouri Western! Meet recent CCDI ‘20 grad and new hire, Joseph and CCDI grad ‘19, Terry who are working hard each day at DJM Ecological Services, Inc. The team awarded Joseph a Visa gift card to help him purchase work clothes, tools and boots for his first day on the job. Rashad Johnson, 2020 Build Our Future Scholarship recipient, was selected to participate in Clayco’s highly competitive college internship program this summer. He is currently interning and being mentored by Matthew Drobak, EIT on the Edge West project. Domnick, incoming senior from Ritenour HS, has been a part of the CCDI program for the past two years. This fine young man was recently hired by Concrete Strategies LLC. as a 2020 CCDI Summer Intern! Scott Rahn, Vice President of Operations at Clayco, is Domnick's mentor. Scott stopped by for a visit to set him up with new PPE, work clothes and essentials. Domnick has spent time job shadowing with Scott both in the office and on the field learning about the different pathways in the construction industry. CCDI’s Build Our Future 2020 Scholarship recipient, Catalina who recently graduated from Ritenour HS, had the opportunity to job shadow her new CCDI mentor Nora S. on the job yesterday! Catalina will be joining Nora to study engineering this fall at Mizzou. In addition to her scholarship award, CCDI is helping to expose Catalina to the different pathways in engineering. She will continue to job shadow over the summer, spending time both in the office and in the field.
