CCDI took over Crest Bowl for our 3rd Annual Mentor-Mentee Bowling Night! We spent the evening enjoying pizza and bowling strikes! Big shout of appreciation to all our mentors for being such great role models for our students. And thank you to everyone for another successful CCDI event!
At the Prop D Rally hosted at Clayco, Governor Mike Parson encouraged Missouri voters to support Prop D because infrastructure and workforce development are the best things for our state’s future. He also met with our CCDI students and was happy to see the steps CCDI is taking toward workforce development.
CCDI Mentor Rick Moeckel visited his CCDI Mentee Darius at Missouri Western State University for homecoming weekend. They had a great visit, watched the game together and even enjoyed some alumni sideline access. Rick’s family came along for the trip too, bringing Darius some homemade goodies and a care package. Rick is proud of how well Darius is doing at his alma mater and he appreciated the opportunity to spend time with him and meet some of his friends.
CCDI held our second Construction Academy session on September 29th. In this session, student learning was centered around the Clayco Trait of the Month, “Leadership.” The attending students heard from guest speakers Jimmy Kisner, Terrance Gant, and Malik Johnson, who are Clayco laborers, as they discussed the career pathway to becoming a laborer and how leadership is modeled in this trade. Clayco’s Director of IT and Infrastructure, Jesse Sanders, talked about servant leadership and how Clayco is leading the industry in the field of IT. Student’s ended this session with a visit from Clayco’s CEO Bob Clark. Mr. Clark spoke to the students about his story, leadership, and Clayco’s commitment to the communities we serve. Thank you to all our guest speakers!
