Mentors

Our mentors provide CCDI with their time, energy and resources to help our program and our participants. CCDI relies on industry leaders from construction pathways to be mentors to our CCDI participants. It is our mentorship’s hands-on, one-on-one approach that has made our St. Louis program such a success.

Company Partnerships

We partner with our clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors in the communities in which we operate. Just like them, CCDI is dedicated to St. Louis and its construction workforce. This program would not be possible without our partnerships with local companies. If your company is interested in taking students for job shadowing, summer interns or full-time hires, contact CCDI.

  • Professional option & trade option guest speakers
Field trips and site visits to construction projects in the St. Louis Area

Construction Academy: October 2019

CCDI’s October Construction Academy was hosted at North Technical High School. The session’s topic was “Trades Day” and led by Mr. Hanneken and 9 of our CCDI/North Tech Alums. We had 31 new students from local high schools participate in hands-on stations to learn introductory skills related to floor laying, painting, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC. A big thank you goes out to Flooring Systems for donating materials for our floor laying station. We also want to recognize Mr. Hanneken for organizing the days activities and his continued support of the CCDI program. Thank you for making this academy a huge success!

Construction Academy: September 2018

CCDI was so excited to welcome a new class of students to 2019-2020 Construction Academy! We spent this first class getting introduced to one another and giving the students an overview of some of the many things they will be learning this year!

Construction Academy: March 2019

CCDI took a field trip to tour Tarlton’s Northwest Healthcare Siteman Cancer Center project. The students began the day with presentations from BJC, Local 562, and from Tarlton’s Superintendent on the project, Mr. James Tillman. They then walked around the jobsite and learned about the most important part of the project, the radiation room. CCDI rounded out the day back in the educational trailer to learn CPR and play interactive construction simulation games. Thank you Tarlton for hosting a CCDI Saturday Academy!
